Methods: One on one interviews were carried out with the ten nurses who have experience of caring foreign patients.

Results: Nurses thought that cultural competence can reduce the stress in relationships with foreign patients. The stressors were communication problems, excessive expectations and aggression of foreign patients.

Conclusion: Cultural competence related education is needed and categorizing the types of foreign patients that can cause stress might reduce the stress of the nurses.
